O concurso prevê o desenvolvimento da ilustração para o rótulo da edição do vinho Única 2026, a ser lançado em novembro do mesmo ano, individualmente ou em equipa. O trabalho vencedor recebe um prémio de 500€ e o(s) autor(es) pode(m) participar em todas as etapas da produção, desde a vindima ao engarrafamento e rotulagem do vinho.

xCoAx explores the intersections where computational tools and media meet art and culture in the form of multi-disciplinary enquiries on aesthetics, computation, communication and the elusive X factor that connects and affects them all.

xCoAx is a great chance for international audiences to exchange ideas in search of interdisciplinary synergies between artists, media practitioners, computer scientists, and theoreticians at the thresholds between digital arts and culture.

xCoAx 2026 will take place at the Palazzo Madama museum in Torino, Italy, under the auspices of the Department of Philosophy and Education Sciences of the University of Torino.

A designer at the end of the designer — Mesa Redonda c/ Joana Tavares, Mário Moura e Silvio Lorusso

A designer at the end of the designer surge da proposta de completar a frase “a designer at the end of…”, mote à produção académica do 2.º semestre em Design de Comunicação VI na Faculdade de Belas-Artes. Desenvolvido como projeto final de licenciatura, partiu de uma ideia lançada numa das aulas introdutórias: a de que o designer-hifenizado era hoje uma tendência na prática profissional e no modo como nos apresentamos e definimos.

Num momento em que a proliferação de títulos especializados parece garantir identidade e relevância – e em que a inteligência artificial reconfigura o que se entende por competência e autoria –, dizer simplesmente “sou designer” tornou-se um ato quase suspeito. A hifenização do perfil profissional promete precisão, mas pode apenas revelar a ambição de um estatuto. Esta mesa redonda parte de uma provocação: e se o título genérico fosse, afinal, o mais exigente? E se reivindicar “designer”, sem adjetivos, fosse assumir uma responsabilidade que o hífen dilui?

Em torno desta pergunta, reunidos numa mesa redonda, Silvio Lorusso, Mário Moura e Joana Tavares encontram-se para discutir a identidade de uma profissão em crise — ou em expansão, conforme se olhe.

Molecular Typography Laboratory é um projeto de investigação especulativo que explora a tipografia experimental e examina a interseção entre função e estética, bem como entre conteúdo e forma. Este estudo assume que as letras latinas e hebraicas possuem uma estrutura molecular e procura compreender de que forma esta hipótese pode ser aplicada a diferentes alfabetos e línguas. Trata-se de um projeto interdisciplinar que estabelece pontes entre o design, a ciência e a linguagem.

Kobi Franco é designer, investigador, curador e diretor do Mestrado em Design no Shenkar College, em Telavive. Dirige um estúdio de referência especializado em design para a cultura e as artes. O seu trabalho tem sido amplamente apresentado em Israel e a nível internacional, tendo recebido diversos prémios, como o Typographic Excellence do Type Directors Club, Nova Iorque; o Excellence Work do Tokyo Type Directors Club; o Prémio do Ministério da Cultura e do Desporto de Israel; os International Design Awards (IDA), EUA; e os DNA Paris Design Awards.

A competição 3 Minutos de Tese – ULisboa 2026 tem candidaturas abertas até 15 de fevereiro!

A quem se destina?

São elegíveis para a Competição 3MT todos os estudantes inscritos num programa de 3.º ciclo da Universidade de Lisboa a partir do 3.º ano (inclusive). O desafio será explicar o impacto da sua investigação a um público não especializado, em apenas três minutos e recorrendo a um único diapositivo.

Quais são os prémios?

1.º classificado – 5.000,00 €

2.º classificado – 2.000,00 €

3.º classificado – 1.000,00 €

Os candidatos na Fase 1 receberão uma Formação em Comunicação de Ciência e um certificado de participação. Aos finalistas da Fase 2 e aos premiados serão ainda atribuídos diplomas de reconhecimento de mérito.

Riso Experiments: A Collection of Color Mixing is an A3 zine featuring prints from 60 students that participated in the workshop “Week of Riso“, that happened in FBAUL, from 3 to 7 of November, 2025.

With over 100 pages, a display of the possible variations and mixes of colors is presented. Together with the different backgrounds and inspirations of each student, a contrasting edition of different shapes, layouts, and aesthetics is created.

Designed, organised, printed and put together by Pedro Serra Pereira.

The exhibition of the 2nd edition of the Mutante Awards Design at Wine opens on 16 January at 6 pm in the Gallery of the Faculty of Fine Arts. It is an exhibition of wine label design.

This event may be photographed and filmed and subsequently publicised.

Design at Wine is a project that offers a space for reflection for designers and other stakeholders in the process of commissioning, designing, executing and disseminating wine label design projects in Portugal. It seeks to contribute to the creation of specific knowledge and increase visual literacy applied to label and bottle design.

The exhibition showcases the winners of the 2nd edition of the Mutante Awards Design at Wine, in a diverse set of works, with wines from all wine-producing regions of mainland Portugal and the islands, with the participation of small and large national producers, specialised design studios and generalist agencies, as well as independent designers. The results can be seen as a reflection of the design produced in Portugal and show the strategic potential of labels in communicating wine (and olive oil) to consumers.

A nova identidade visual da Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa da Universidade de Lisboa foi desenvolvida pela estudante Inês Gartner Velasco, do curso de Design de Comunicação da Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa. O projeto foi acompanhado e co-coordenado pelos docentes Sónia Rafael e Victor M. Almeida.

O símbolo inspira-se na lamparina de Florence Nightingale, referência maior da enfermagem moderna, evocando os princípios fundamentais da profissão: iluminar, proteger e acompanhar.

All organisms create internal models of their surroundings as they interact with the world. To ensure their survival, individual species connect to an underlying reality in radically different ways. Sensing their environments through their own particular sensoria, each organism experiences a self-centred world that is intrinsically subjective. At the same time, it’s equally true that, at a fundamental level, the unit of survival is neither the individual, nor the group, nor even species, but rather ‘organism plus environment’ (Bateson). Life can therefore be understood as a vast interconnected web where multiple worlds overlap.

At a time when AI is gaining increasing cultural weight, this workshop starts from the premise that human intelligence is part of larger ecological system and should not be separated from it. Network theory will be explored as a tool to conjoin the human and non-human, alongside an unorthodox, performative logic that demonstrates how binary oppositions are neither inherent nor fixed. Participants will devise novel approaches for their individual studio practice. Includes practical and theoretical modules.

About CADA: CADA is an art group that uses new media to activate a space for experience. Its work is playful and often inspired by what in everyday life and in nonhuman environments can be inferred through patterns and what might otherwise be uncomputable. The group’s approach is collaborative and experimental. It also organises Human Entities, an annual programme of public talks focused on technological change and its impacts, runs workshops to examine narratives of computation and the ANIMAIS residency to extend participation in media-based art.

Formed in Lisbon in 2007 by Sofia Oliveira and Jared Hawkey, CADA has exhibited across Europe and in Brazil. CADA has received public funding from the Directorate-General for the Arts (DGArtes) of the Portuguese Ministry of Culture, the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and Lisbon City Council.
