Tiago Rorke artist talk: Humans and machines making things together

Designer, artist and maker, usually immersed in prototyping and physical computing. Passionate about teaching, and empowering people with tools for them to design and build their own creative experiences and better understand their technological world. Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Tiago studied industrial design at the Victoria University of Wellington School of Design, and was a student at the Computational Design Lab at Carnegie Mellon University, in Pittsburgh PA. Co-founder of Diatom, a studio in London developing collaborative and open-source design tools, Tiago is now a freelance designer working between hardware and software, as a resident at MILL – Makers in Little Lisbon.
In this artist talk, Tiago Rorke will present a selection of his works, highlighting the role of interactive technologies and physical computing. These projects will serve as a basis for reflecting on how such practices can foster creativity and transform the ways we perceive and interact with the world.
