COURSE OBJECTIVES

Technical Means of Drawing 

The Postgraduate Course in Technical Means of Drawing lasts two academic semesters, with the first edition starting in the 2025/2026 academic year.
It aims to generate a dynamic environment with opportunities for experimentation, presentation and rendering for the purposes of professionalisation and improvement in this area of design and related fields, in order to further contribute to the strengthening of the cultural, artistic and technical creation hub.
Thus, it will seek to explore a variety of possible ways of approaching design with digital graphic media, understanding them as qualitative tools in the field of creativity, making use of multidisciplinary collaboration and technological innovation.
It is aimed at students with higher education in the arts, design and architecture, but not only, who are interested in continuing to develop, update and deepen their knowledge in these media.

Schedule

Are accepted as candidates for this course:

a) Holders of the licenciado degree or legal equivalent in the areas of fine arts, visual arts, design, multimedia art, drawing, art and heritage sciences, architecture, as well as related areas; in the scientific fields of natural sciences and the environment; archaeology and anthropology;

b) Holders of a foreign academic degree conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State acceding to this Process, in the areas mentioned above;

c) Holders of a foreign academic degree in the areas mentioned above, recognized as meeting the objectives of a Licenciado degree by the Scientific Board of the Faculdade de Belas-Artes;

d) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum recognized by the Scientific Board of the Faculdade de Belas-Artes as attesting the capacity to attend the study programme.

HOW TO APPLY

For the presentation of the application, a non-refundable application fee is due.

TUITION FEES

The tuition fee for full-time students is set annually by the General Council of the Universidade de Lisboa, which may, under the International Student Statute, set differentiated values for international students.

Tuition fees can be paid in instalments, to be defined by the Management Council of the Faculdade de Belas-Artes. 

Tuition fees may be paid in instalments, as determined by the Management Board of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Students who are enrolled and attending more than one postgraduate course in the scientific area of Design will receive a 10% discount on the total tuition fee set for the second course.

Evaluation criteria and selection

In selecting candidates, an overall assessment of their background will be made, subject to a numerical scale of 0 to 20 points, in which the following criteria will be considered:

1. Classification and suitability of the candidate’s academic degree, taking into account the area of study of the cycle of studies in relation to the specific objectives and conditions of admission to the course for which they are applying. In the case of academic degrees obtained at foreign higher education institutions, the classification will be the result of the proportional conversion of the classification obtained to the Portuguese classification scale, when the foreign higher education institution adopts a scale different from this one;
2. Assessment of the professional, academic, scientific and artistic curriculum.

Candidates will be ranked according to the score obtained in the assessment, resulting from the simple arithmetic mean of the scores assigned to each of the selection criteria. Candidates who obtain a score lower than 9.5 will be excluded from the selection process. The assessment parameters are described in Annex I to the Faculty of Fine Arts Postgraduate Studies Regulations.

A selection interview may be conducted with candidates if the course coordinator deems it necessary, in which case it will be included in the above-mentioned assessment criteria, and candidates who do not attend the interview will be excluded from the selection process.
