APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN FROM 31 AUGUST TO 1 SEPTEMBER 2026

Last Chance to join the edition of 2026-27 of ULisboa’s PhD in Planetary Health

Applications for the final cohort are open from 31 August to 1 September 2026.

The 4th and final application cohort for the PhD Programme in Planetary Health at the University of Lisbon will take place from 31 August to 1 September 2026, representing the final opportunity to join the 2026-2027 edition of the programme, which begins in September. Interviews with shortlisted candidates will take place on 4 September.

Launched in 2025, the programme promotes an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach to global challenges affecting human health and the health of the planet, bringing together expertise from the 19 Schools of the University of Lisbon. It is organised into six specialisations: Climate Change and Health, Global Health, Health in Extreme Environment, Policies and Governance in Planetary Health, Tropical Health, and Urban Health.

This year, we interviewed Chantal Riggs, a first-year student, to learn about the impact of the PhD in Planetary Health on her academic and professional journey. Read the interview with Chantal Riggs.

Applications are assessed based on the Curriculum Vitae and motivation letter, followed by interviews with shortlisted candidates and the final selection of candidates for admission.
