Pause – Kwan Tse exhibition

On the 19th of June, at 19h00, opens at the Capela of Faculdade de Belas-Artes the exhibition “Pause” of Kwan Tse, student of the Master in Art and Ciênce of Glass and Ceramics, at Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa and Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, through the Research Unit VICARTE – Vidro e Cerâmica para as Artes.

Whatever triggers the emotional feeling, will always be dissipated… Sadness, disappointment and even resentment, will gradually fade away. We would then return to our “normal life”, following the rhythm and rules created by our society, leaving only memories, a diminute kernel of what once was, behind.
Artist statement
- Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time -
My work aims to animate the interconnection of the environment and beings. I craft and reform objects into a contraption in order to generate an extraordinary dialogue. Through the intrinsic properties of glass, by modelling, moulding, tweaking and cajoling, expanding and oppressing, I create objects to experience the struggle and the tension between my inner self and the outer world.
