CANCERLAND: THE LIMIT OF THE POSSIBLE

The artist Umasensio feels interested in delving into vulnerability, both mentally and corporally, which at certain points coexists with the great strength from the moment she became a mother in 2016. Articulate the trauma of physical contact with emotional contact is something very complex, subject to the fragility of what cannot be sustained. These are the limits that she has tried to represent in his productions since then, trying not to forget all the diversity of roles and affections.

CANCERLAND: THE LIMIT OF THE POSSIBLE explores a common ground for everyone who is or has been sick or loves someone, a parent, child, spouse, or friend who has or has had cancer. All human bodies are the same but there are no two same bodies. Some people survive and others die. Everyone knows this and living close to that truth changes the daily life.

The word trauma means dream, also illusion and utopia in German. Úrsula Martín Asensio makes us walk a tightrope, placing ourselves close enough to what we love to eradicate the loneliness of suffering, while at the same time being far enough to behelpful. In her proposal to manage empathy, is interesting to study other aspects of trauma.

All this under the pandemic and war context that where are facing now that spurs a paradigm shift in which the world is entering an era of great insecurity.
