The National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC), and the Faculty of Fine Arts Arts from the University of Lisbon (FBAUL), through the Center for Studies and Research in Fine Arts (CIEBA), with the Institute of Art History, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (IHA/NOVA FCSH), and CIEG (Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies), Institute of Social and Political Sciences, University of Lisbon (ISCSP-ULisboa) organize, on the 4th to the 6th of November, 2021, the international congress On the rise of desire. Julião Sarmento (1948-2021). This congress pays homage to Julião Sarmento, the most international of Portuguese artists, who died on May 4, 2021.
